I picked up All That Glitters several times and kept setting it back down. Why??? It has everything I love in a series… magic, strong women, elves, nasty kings, brave thieves, dragons, high seas adventure… and yet, set it down I did. It was the cover! Rosalia definitely had it going on – magic weapon, drapey cape, looks ready to open up a can of ‘this will hurt you more than it hurts me’ and gorgeous… soooo ✔✔✔✔ …and then Xavier’s cover model – the stiff pose and Ricky Bobby ‘I don’t know what to do with my hands’ just wasn’t what my mind considered a proper match. I set the book aside again. A month went by. I kept side-eyeing the cover… Finally – an epiphany – has the Vivienne Savage team ever disappointed (and btw, I’m convinced there are ten authors under the Savage nom de plume – so many, many series to choose from…)? The answer – never. So I stopped the cover judgments and… Zero Disappointments!

Rosalia’s character – what doesn’t she do well – thief extraordinaire, hypnotic dancer and has a dragon shifter’s intense gaze giving her the once, twice and thrice. There is certainly more to uncover about her past (present and future too). If a non-dragon shifter has a baby with a dragon shifter will the baby come out a dragon or human? (Asking for a friend). Xavier’s character – dragon anyone 🙋‍♀️🐉🙋‍♀️ Clockmaker, magic imbuer and all-around steampunk gadget inventor (forget the cover model – Rosalia 💙 Xavier forever).

All That Glitters begins a new series, Daughter of Fortune, a new world, new characters and mysteries discovered but not uncovered… Foundation laid – Surfaced scratched – I need book 2!

*Note – My favorite word combo in this book – equine excrement – it rolls off the tongue. I’ve been trying to fit it in during casual conversations – so far – hasn’t been appropriate anywhere… damn.
