I believe Ruin and Rising is akin to the 1893 Bowen and Burke seven-hour, 110 round boxing match. Blood, sweat, tears, bodies pushed well past their limits – a draw… no winners… a tie of devastation. My eyes rounded in shock, my lips formed a perfect O of surprise – not one word by Bardugo is given without taking its pound of flesh. The entire Shadow and Bone trilogy is an intensely creative High Fantasy with complex characters that chapter-by-chapter fans will love, hate, and love again. Amazing!
*Note – I would be sadder to finish a series except on March 30th I have the second King of Scars Duology to look forward to, Rule of Wolves, and Grishaverse is coming to Netflix in April!!!
