I’ve missed everyone! Sorry, it’s been soooooooo long since I’ve reviewed. There has been one project after another project, then another … I have managed to read late at night, and I plan on putting a few of them below just for fun, and you guys can tell me if you’ve read them. Darling Venom – I just couldn’t let it go without at least giving the author some well-deserved praise.
I expected this review to be a simple thing to manage. I mean, I could NOT put it down. It’s such a combination of genres, there is no pigeonholing this one. This book meshes contemporary fiction and romance seamlessly with existentialism. Huntington’s writing parallels Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. She is a classic like William Faulkner and understands relationships like Nora Roberts. Darling Venom holds touches of JoJo Moyes, Me Without You, a love story that is past, present, and future, but only in memory. This book is devastating and uplifting – if those two things can coexist – they do here. Darling Venom will crush and recreate how you think. This author will own you within moments.
A few of the books I’ve recently read and adored:
- Dreamland Billionaires Trilogy – Lauren Asher
- It Ends With Us Duology – Colleen Hoover
- Ghostly Game – Christine Feehan
- From the Grave – Kresley Cole
- Lassiter: Black Dagger Brotherhood – J.R. Ward
- Red Hawk – Helen Harper
- The MacGregors series – Nora Roberts
